About Me.

I am a Registered Nurse with 18 years of clinical practice in multiple emergency departments within the Fraser Health Authority. I have held various clinical nurse educator and clinical resource nurse positions over the last 10 years, as well as continuing to practice as a bedside nurse in several emergency departments. I have recently audited the Simulated Trauma Resuscitation Update Course and Advanced Trauma Life Support courses, and believe that every day presents countless opportunities for learning and personal growth.

 

I am a mother of 2 wonderful kids, a wife, a twin, a glider pilot, and a sailor. I love to travel and am also an avid practitioner of yoga and skier in my down-time.

2008

Emergency Nursing Specialty Qualification, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Burnaby, BC, Canada

Emergency Specialty Qualification designed to provide skills and knowledge needed to care for the range of patients that seek emergency care in rural and urban emergency departments. Contained critical care components as well as pathophysiology and treatment content, and focused on providing best-possible care while functioning as an effective Emergency Department Nurse.

2004-2005

Bachelor of Science in Nursing, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Cananda

Bachelor or Science in Nursing with Registered Nurse qualification, designed to provide the skills needed to begin practice in acute or community practice settings. Completed degree with honours standing.

1997-2003

Bachelor of Science in Biology, Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec Canada

Bachelor of Science in Biology with focus on ecology and some specialized courses on determinants of health and environmental biology. Completed degree with honours standing
